To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, all visitors to Belize will be subject to new government COVID-19 regulations and guidelines during the current stage of the phased reopening.
Belize’s Tourism Gold Standard” Certification Program for Tour Operators
To meet the new health and safety challenges presented by COVID-19, the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) has launched its “Tourism Gold Standard” certification program for hotels and tour operators to ensure a consistently high standard is being provided to visitors. We are pleased to share that Get To Know Belize Adventures has met these Gold Standards, so you can trust your adventures and transportation will be in the safest environment possible.

Here is what you need to know when traveling to Belize.




Your Safety on Tours:

Please note that:
- We are Gold Standard certified.
- High touch areas, furniture, and equipment are regularly sanitized.
- The tour desk counter and seats are sanitized frequently.
- Tour guides and office personnel wear required PPE.
- Office personnel clean and sanitize all high-touch points frequently.
- The sharing of equipment is not allowed by staff and tour guides.
- Vehicles are disinfected frequently.
- Masks are required by the Belize government in all public places.
- Each guest will be quickly and easily temperature checked before entering the van.
- Each quest is required to sanitize hand prior to entering the van- hand sanitizer will be provided
- Our team has had extensive health and safety training related to COVID-19
- All employees are required to submit to temperature checks during their shift.
- All employees are required to wear a facemask as part of their uniforms.
- Each driver/tour guide is required to carry a small container of hand sanitizer with them at all times.
Here is what to expect on a Tour or Ground Transportation

- Each guest will be quickly and easily temperature checked before entering the van by our driver/guide and temperature will be logged
- Guests required to sanitize hand prior to entering van- hand sanitizer will be provided
- Guests are required by law to wear a mask at all times except in the following instances:
- On a high-intensity tour where the guide is 6 feet apart. For example – Hiking, rappelling horseback riding.
- Snorkeling/ diving
- Once seated in a restaurant to eat.
- On the beach, once sufficient distance is maintained from other guests.
Please cooperate with our staff to ensure a smooth and more enjoyable experience.
*Once you potentially contract the COVID-19 virus while you’re in Belize, you’re advised to self-isolate for a minimum of 14 days or until you receive a negative COVID-19 test from Belize Ministry of Health MOH
*There is a BZ $5,000 fine and possible two-year prison sentence, for non-compliance with host country rules regarding social distancing, movement restrictions, mask mandates, etc.
